We went to Luminaria again this year and it was fantastic. The only thing that would have made it better, was snow. Last year, there was so much snow and it was even snowing while we were there.
This year, no snow, but it was still amazing. This is quickly becoming a great yearly tradition.
It's a 1 mile walk through over 1 million lights and 27 different sections with music and lights everywhere.
Since we all had to have masks on, you can't tell here, but Hannah and Shelley are dancing with Jane (hidden behind Hannah)
This hill is one of the parts you could just sit and watch for a long time. Over 6500 different lights change colors and "dance" in various patterns to music. It's amazing how it all works. The view from the top (at the end of the walk) is even better....
Our favorite part is the Light of the World Sculpture Garden - it's 35 sculptures over 2.5 acres of Christ and all the stories of the New Testament. This year, Luminaria added hundreds and hundreds of lanterns all over this part and it was so pretty to walk through
This one of Lazarus being raised from the dead is different, as you have to stand at just the right spot and you can see Jesus in the shadows just outside the grave opening
This tunnel is everyone's favorite - the lights dance all around you in different patterns and music
In the spring and summer, there is a big waterfall here, and even in the winter, it looks like water with the lights
At the end, top of the hill, looking down on the hill of moving lights
It was cold, but we all had a great time! Jane did too, even though she doesn't look like it in this photo!
