Thar’s Gold In Them There Hills!

Last week Jacob went on the annual 4th grade field trip to the “Gold Bug Mine” in Placerville.  Marissa also went on this same field trip and liked it.  Jacob agreed with Marissa and thinks the whole family should go.

The mine was mined starting in 1888. It is not known how much gold came out of this mine because no records were used. After a day’s work, it would take 24 hours for the air to exchange so the men could start working again.  It is believed that no more than 2-3 men worked the mine at a time.

Jacob took some photos to share with us so we could feel like we were there with him:

Hannah’s Baptism

Last month Hannah had her baptism.

Yeah, I know, I was late putting this up.  Sorry!

It was a very special day for Hannah.  We had tons of family there, all of Doug’s bro and sis and families came, and Grandma & Grandpa Gwilliam, and Great Grandma Petersen, and Grandma & Grandpa Bingham from Utah and Shelley’s sis and family, Don & Shauna came from Idaho!

We totally enjoyed all the company and fun we had with everyone.  It was just 2 days before Doug’s surgery, so he was feeling great too and enjoyed having everyone over!

We love you Hannah!
