Six Flags Magic Mountain Dec 07

You didn't expect us to be near a Six Flags and not go did you?  If you did, then you don't know us very well!

We went to Six Flags Magic Mountain just outside of LA and it was VERY uncrowded!  I think there was only one or two rides that had lines.  It was great!  Jacob went on upside down roller coasters and loved it!

Jacob had the best of both worlds..he could go on the kiddie rides, and the bigger rides too!

This one went so fast! Tallest and fastest in the world. Over 25 stories tall, and then straight down at 85 mph!

Hannah is trying to find a ride that she can go on.

If you look close, at the top of the photo you can see Meghan, Hannah, and Jacob. Marissa is hidden by the pole. They loved this one. Mom and Dad get sick on this one.

Here is Doug with Superman Ride behind him.

Here is a front shot of Superman Ride. It does from 0 to 100 mph in 8 seconds (using magnets) and then STRAIGHT up and back down again.

Here is our favorite roller coaster here. It's a "flying" coaster where you are actually facing the ground like you are flying.

Jacob and Hannah couldn't go on Superman, so they played around outside on the entrance of the ride, climbing all over it while Daddy was watching them.

Hannah made some new friends at Six Flags.

As the sun was setting, it was time to go home. We had to say goodbye to the 15 roller coasters and other rides until next time.

Fleet Science Center Dec 07

While in San Diego, we made a stop to the Fleet Science Center where we practically had the place to ourselves.

In this one exhibit, you had to walk on gravel and be the quietest you could. Even a snap of a finger would register about a 2.0 on the sound scale.

The lowest score of the day 0.01 which Doug actually set the record the day we were there!

There were activities for everyone at the Science Center.

Meghan really liked this hat. She wanted to wear it home.

This shows what Meghan should look like when she is 70 years old!

Outside, Jacob and Hannah were having fun of their own by the fountain.

Sea World Dec 07

While in San Diego, we made a stop at Sea World, as we've never been. It was such a clean park! We were so amazed at how clean and perfect the flower beds and grounds were kept.

We happened to run into the Schmidt Family from Eagle Mountain when we were there! Talk about a small world! We all went on a water ride, even though it was cloudy and cool. Needless to say, we got all wet!

This is Meghan. She wasn't feeling very good that day, and she felt as bad as she looks here. She finally went out to the car and took a nap for a few hours, and then felt much better.

We went on this ride several times, but this wasn't the ride that got us all wet! This one was just fun. Part roller coaster and part water ride. It actually had an elevator as part of the ride and the whole boat went in the elevator!

Here are the real stars of the show! The great animals! Below is Shamu the killer whale.

Cruise Adventures

We were so excited to have this new adventure with our family and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends (the Schmidts also joined us). Jacob and Hannah enjoyed scheduled activities with Camp Carnival and

Meghan and Marissa met new friends and hung out for 5 days with cousins.

Doug and Shelley enjoyed playing lots of games with the adults. It was a great opportunity to get to know everyone better.

Cabo San Lucas

Aunt Leslie and Uncle Adam negotiated a fantastic rate for our entire family (minus Grandma and Grandpa who we couldn't find). We paid only $12 for adults and nothing for children under the age of 12 to travel to lands end and Lover's Beach. We took a 10 minute ride around the bay in a glass bottom boat. Our captain threw bread to the fish and we saw them swimming and splashing up close. We saw Lands End and the seal lions where our guide (who only spoke Spanish) called to the Sea Lions and they responded in kind. We were each outfitted with snorkel gear and then dropped off at the beach with a scheduled return time in 2 hours (thanks to Doug's translation skills). We played on the beach, made sand structures (forts) played in the water and snorkeled. It was the first time snorkeling for Meghan and Marissa. They didn't like the taste of salt water but enjoyed the experience nevertheless. Aunt Cherie thwarted the efforts of a local who was pilfering through people's unattended belongings. We played and swam and loved the nice warm sand and water. It was fabulous and we only wanted to leave because we were all tired and hungry.

Cruise Formal Night

We all loved getting dressed up and ready for our first ever formal night. We had been practising good manners and proper etiquette for many months in preparation. It was one of the highlights from our cruise.

Gwilliam Family Reunion 2007

What a great time we had!!!
We had a wonderful time joining our entire Gwilliam family on the Carnival Cruise Ship Elation for the December 1, 2007 sailing to Cabo Sand Lucas and Ensenada for 5 days. It was fabulous.
We traveled Friday afternoon from Roseville to Bakersfield where we spent the night at the Springhill Suites. Although we left Roseville an hour behind the Blacks, Cobabes and Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam, we managed to arrive at Sweet Tomatoes at exactly the same time to enjoy dinner (they got lost).

The next morning we got up and drove the remainder of the way to San Diego boarding the ship at the port of San Diego first.

We immediately went to work unpacking and decorating doors.

We were obedient in practising the life boat drill. We wanted to be sure we were all safe.
