Rain Rain, Come Again! We Miss You!

Something happened today that hasn't happened in a LONG time!  It rained!  Just a little, but still!  It was the first of the season!

It hasn't rained in almost 6 months since we saw a drop of water out of the sky.  This isn't normal for us!  Normally it doesn't rain until late October, so we are about three weeks early! 

Why doesn't it rain at all between late April and late October?  Nobody can ever explain it to me.  Quite a different from Utah when it rains weekly in the afternoons in the late summer months.

It rained enough to cancel soccer practice on Friday, but not enough to cancel the soccer games on Saturday.  Both Jacob and Hannah had games at the same time, so we had to split up.

As Jacob was warming up for his game, Marissa and Dad went and found the cache that was at the park where the game was.  We had to jump over a creek, balance on a downed tree branch to cross the creek, and then climb up a tree to find it.  Quite an adventure!  The cache was filled with all foreign coins.

 

Earlier in the week, Jacob and Dad found a few others while Hannah was at her soccer practice.

The black thing in the middle of this bush is a sprinkler.. a fake one! The cache was inside! Just sitting there in the middle of the bush.

This next one was really good though. We even had to ask for a hint, as we didn't get it the first time, even though it was so obvious. We looked all around where it was....the first time!

After getting the hint that led us back to where we were - near this fence post, Dad was kicking the weeds around the bottom of the post, and the small block of wood moved!  And came off! That was it!

On the back side of the block that was just sitting on a screw, they hollowed the block out and velcroed a mint tin inside.

Very creative!
