Hannah Got Asked Out On A Date

Hannah got asked out on a date…. A double date at that!  Since it was with someone we know, Shelley said it would be ok.

I asked Hannah out, along with her friend Megan and Megan’s dad!

First, a backstory:

A few months ago, the school had a daddy/daughter date night that was dancing, photos, games, and tons of fun.  Hannah and I were all set to go, but then my chemo got switched and I was going to be sick for the date.  So Hannah’s friend (Megan) and her dad adopted Hannah for the night so she could still go.

Fast forward to now, and Hannah said she never really got her daddy/daughter date so we planned it, and invited Megan and her dad to come along with us.

We started by riding the race cars and SunSplash, and then went mini golfing at SunSplash, and then somehow, ended up at Leatherby’s (yum) for some ice cream!

It was a very fun night.  Thanks for the good date Hannah!

It’s A Hard Knock Life…… For Me!

Jacob was in the school musical Annie.  After approximately 359.74 hours of practice, it was finally time for the play!

Jacob had to learn all the songs in Annie, and he was a “Townsperson” in the play.  He made a brief appearance playing games on the street, and then in another scene, he walked across the stage several times as people passing along on the sidewalk.

Here we are waiting in line to get in:

We were glad to have Grandma and Grandpa Gwilliam come with us too!

Where’s Jacob?  See if you can find him in the following photos:

He did his parts perfectly and we are proud of him being in the musical!

Share Your Talent

Recently, when we’ve had the missionaries over for dinner, we tell them we have one requirement for them to come over.

They have to share a talent with us.  Unfortunately, we didn’t think to take photos of all of them, but we will now!  Then we send the photos to their parents, so they can enjoy the talents as well!

Last week, Elder Shelton and Mullins came over and we got to bask in their wonderful talents.

We heard a nice Hawaiian version of Somewhere Over the Rainbow played on the ukulele by Elder Mullins, and Elder Shelton led us in a game of ‘Kerplot’.

Elders Shelton and Mullins tried to learn a new talent by playing with our “Haikichi Sticks” but I think they need some more time to develop that talent.

Another Elder we had over a while ago, showed us his ‘talent’ of balancing a table, yes a TABLE on his chin.  He was unable to do it though, because he needed some duct tape to put on his chin to protect it, and we didn’t have any!!!!  The next time we had the missionaries over, he was transferred so we didn’t finish seeing his talent, but you get the idea of it here.

Get Some AIR!

Today, Journey’s and Van’s (both make clothing and shoes specializing in the ‘skateboarding’ crowd) made a stop on their nationwide tour for a free show.  Their ‘nationwide’ show only goes to 5 places and one of them was Roseville!

They set up their course in the mall parking lot and had a Battle of the Bands, BMX Bike jumping and half-pipe, skateboarding half-pipe, and motorcycle jumping.  They also had a small skateboarding park set up for kids to try out, even providing helmets and skateboards for the kids to use.

Nobody except Jacob wanted to go with me, so it was a boy’s afternoon out!    We got on our sagger pants, wore our hats backwards, and were off!

We got there pretty early because I thought it was going to be crowded later on, and we were right!  We did get front standing by the demo’s for the motorcycles and bike and skateboards, but upon leaving, it took us 30 mins just to get out of the parking lot because so many people were coming!  It was so packed!!

It was cool…and had a good time!  And got a little sun too!
