Let’s Go For A Walk

This last Saturday, it was a nice fall day and we decided to go for a little walk… Ok, a little hike.  It had been over a year since we’ve been to a nice hiking area in Auburn called “Hidden Falls”, so we decided to go.

It’s a very nice park with miles and miles of trails for horses, bikes and of course people.

It’s about  a 1 1/2 mile hike to the “Hidden Falls” but it’s a nice easy hike.  Finally, you come around a corner and there are the falls! You certainly don’t expect them to be here – in the middle of the countryside like this. It’s not like this is in the mountains where you would expect it.

Below the falls are some little ponds that the kids loved playing around and in.

Here is a video of the falls taken by Hannah:

And here is the video taken by me:

I like Hannah’s better..it catches the essence of the falls – almost like you are riding a barrel down the falls!

We had a good time and got out of the house!

Welcome To Fall!

What a difference a week makes! Last Saturday it was still summer and 105 degrees! This Saturday, breezy, nice and only 73 degrees!

There was a small air show in Lincoln today, and we went a few years ago because they had free plane rides for kids 8-17, but Hannah and Jacob couldn’t go last time, and we went in the afternoon and waited 3 hours for the rides!  This year, we decided to go early, since Jacob’s soccer game wasn’t until 3 pm.

We got there around 8:30 and only had to wait a little over an hour.  The kids all got to ride and their rides were about 20 mins long.  They loved it!

We saw lots of planes and helicopters.  We had to leave before the actual “air show” of jets, and aerobatics, but we got what we came for – the free rides for the kids.

Here is Marissa, Jacob and Hannah and their pilot. For some reason, we didn’t get a photo of Meghan and her pilot.

Their plane only held 3 passengers, so Meghan had to go on the next plane, and it only held two. Meghan got to sit in the front, as did Marissa and they each got to “drive” the plane.  They wanted to go upside down, but they held back and didn’t do it.

Here is Marissa, Jacob’s and Hannah getting ready for take off:

And here is Meghan getting ready for take off:

Here are some pics that Meghan took while in the air. If you know the area, the houses shown are in “Sun City Lincoln”

It was fun times!

Later, we went to Jacob’s soccer game where they (The Puma’s) won lost :-(

Time To Update

So Marissa told me that I needed to update the blog. She was getting tired of reading the same things she already read.  It has been a while since I updated, but with school going full speed, there really hasn't been too much to report on.

Jacob started soccer, and we even took the camera last week to take some pics, but it was so hot, we forgot.  The game was at 3:15pm (yucky time) and it was 105 degrees and the kids were so hot and tired, and so were we just sitting there watching!  We will try to remember to take the camera AND use it this week.  It's not going to be hot this time.

Other than that, that is about it!  So I found some three videos for your viewing pleasure from one of our favorite movies since I don't have anything else to write. Marissa and Meghan go around the house quoting lines from this movie all the time.

Hopefully, it's one of your favorites too!

There you go Marissa.

All Updated!

Big Sister, Little Sister

So back in the day, Meghan and Marissa would play a little game called “Big Sister, Little Sister” and one would be the big sister and one would be the little sister.  The big sister usually bossed around the little sister, and they took turns being the big sister.

Well, they were longing for the good ole days, and decided to play Big Sister, Little Sister again.  Marissa was so overjoyed about the prospect of getting to be the “big sister” and bossing around the “little sister” (Meghan) that she had to grab the camera and video this rare occurance!

After they started playing, the game really turned into a singing fest, where Meghan and Marissa really showed their true colors and their fun lovable side that we love to see!  We want to see more of this side of them!

A few of the videos seem similar, but they really are different!
