Halloween 08

Well, Halloween came and went, and we all are filled with empty calories and holes in our teeth from all the candy!

We got a double dose this year and the church's "trunk or treat" was a week before Halloween so the kids got a lot of candy from that, and then even more candy on Halloween.  So dad was happy about that! (Really, he was!)

Hannah decided that she didn't want to be the witch for Halloween after all. She tried on three different costumes and finally decided on the princess, which fits her more than a witch does.  Marissa was tinkerbell and Jacob was a race car driver, and Meghan was supergirl. Meghan wouldn't post for a photo, and she hasn't quite learned yet that if she would just pose, the pics would turn out better than when she tries to hide!

We go all out for decorating our house!  You won't believe how good it looks! Here is a shot of it:

Yep that is just about it!  Ok, we had one pumpkin outside that had a light on in it, and a Halloween flag.

Doug was up to his Halloween tricks again this year scaring all the kids coming for candy. He gets into his skeleton costume and sits on the bench really still. Fog machines and strobe lights are going. He doesn't move until the kids get real close and then he moves and yells and startles them!  Most of the time, they walk up and then stop when they get close and stand there trying to determine if it's real or not.

Usually, friends will push their other friends forward first (these are 10-12 year olds. The little kids just stand there and sometimes cry).

There is a really really short video that Meghan took, saying she took a really good video, but something must have happened between the time she took the really good video and the time the video got downloaded because it's really short but it gives you a short glimpse of how it looks.

Here is some of Jacob's and Hannah's candy before their 20% they give to dad. Meghan and Marissa have just as much but wouldn't show it in public because everyone kept eating it.

And our Prop 8 sign finally disappeared after having in our yard for about 4 weeks, which is about 4 weeks longer than we expected it to stay there.  It was there when we went to bed Halloween night, but went to prop sign heaven during the night.

Cute costumes! Wow look at all that candy. Good thing my kids are to small to want to trick-or-treat through all the neighborhoods. We went to two houses moms and Darin's parents.
