BOO! BOO!

Wow, it’s Halloween already!

It was a nice fall day (73 degrees) and no rain in sight, so the kids were excited to get ready and get some sugar.

Doug wasn’t feeling too well, and since he is the one that normally puts all the Halloween stuff out, we didn’t have much in the way of decorations. He didn’t even sit out on the bench in his skeleton costume with the strobe light and fog machine scaring all the kids this year.

Our decorations this year consisted of some pumpkins…

A flag…..

Some cute candy corns Shelley made to scatter around the house…..

A skeleton hanging from the light over the desk…..

and some shrunken apple heads Doug and the cub scouts made….

Meghan and Marissa went out with their friends, going with the younger kids. Marissa couldn’t decide what to be, so she was two different things.

When everyone got home, it was time to “sort”

I’m not sure how this tradition got started, but I remember sorting my candy when I was a kid too!  You put it into piles either by “kinds” or “favorites” or “ones I am going to eat all tonight” and “ones that I will give to others because I don’t like them that much”.

In any case, it was a good Halloween and we all had fun and got enough candy to last until at least Thanksgiving.

Now go brush and floss your teeth!
