Silver Lake Hike

Meghan and Corey have been telling us for some time they want to hike to Silver Lake with us (up American Fork Canyon).  They said it is one of their favorite hikes due to the beautiful surroundings.

Well, it was finally time to take them up on this offer, and they were not kidding!  It is one of the prettiest hikes we've done - going through forests, birch trees, meadows, and rocks.  You get them all with this 2.5 mile each way hike, gaining about 1450 feet during the hike.  It easily is one of our favorites now too!

Trail starts off in a lush surrounding

Of course, Hannah gives her best face

A view about half way up

There are a few steams to cross

Getting close!

We made it!  The lake isn't that big, but it is very pretty in a bowl surrounded by the rock mountains.

Looking down into the valley

Water coming out of the lake to feed the steams

I love this photo of all the birch trees the trail goes through

Thanks Corey and Meghan for taking us here!
