Saturday Get-Away!

Since this would be the last day that we could go somewhere as a family before Doug’s treatment begin next week, we decided to take a little day trip.

We started at theCoyote Point Museumin South San Fran, as we have never been there!

It’s an Environmental Museum and has exhibits and animals and fun things to do and see.

There was this really cool bee hive that was see-through and you could see and hear all the bees doing their buzzing. We even found the queen!

We walked in a cave to go underground and see the animals close up and in person!  It was a small cave though!

We saw these two birds outside and they looked so real they looked fake!  Then they blinked!

They were not fake!

After the museum, we found this really cool park to play on while mom and dad went to find a geocache near by.

Meghan and Marissa are finding out that parks don’t quite hold the same excitement they once did!

We were really really close to San Fran Airport and we could watch the planes come in for a landing. It was a little scary, because there is water all around, and they look like they are going to land in the water since the runway is right next to the bay. We even saw one plane just about ready to touch down and then suddenly it went back up!  And came back around for another try at landing!

We then headed West to the coast and found this little lighthouse to stop in and see.

This little meadow by the beach had a big patch of pink flowers!

We then went to the beach…the tide was coming in so there were some good waves!

We found this little cave that would fill up with water as the waves came in, so we had to time it just right to get inside!

Marissa was worried because as we were in there, a big wave was coming in!

At the back of the cave were these rubbery snake like looking sea weed ropes.

Of course Jacob went hiking up the side of the cliff.

Marissa wanted to strike a pose.

We wanted to try our hand at making a sand castle. So we took this:

And worked on it become this:

And finished it to become this:

Jacob and Meghan even played a little catch!

We had plans to go to another lighthouse and the redwoods, but we ran out of time. We didn’t want to rush the beach since the kids really really loved it there. Who doesn’t like the beach? And the sound of the waves!  So relaxing and peaceful, yet loud at the same time..

It was a good day!  Warm, breezy, and fun!

Of course on the way home, Leatherby’s was calling our name!
