This is a continuation of the visit we shared with the Anderson’s (Shelley’s Sis) who came to visit us for a few days while they were on Spring Break.
We took them to our famous “Slide Park” which isn’t very big, but is different and you can certainly make it fun!
It’s tucked away on the back side of a small park, and there are two cement sides built into the hillside. Most of the time, people just use cardboard or waxed paper to go down the slide with.
As you can imagine, waxed paper and cardboard don’t last too long on a cement slide! So we go to Deseret Industries and find things like old snow sleds, seat covers, and probably the best one ever, hard plastic thanksgiving turkey trays! They go FAST down the cement slides!
We all had fun on the cement slides, and only came home with a few scrapes. You should wear long shirts and long pants otherwise you will get cement burns!
Not too far from the cement slides, is a small creek and someone built a rope swing over it for swimming in the summer. The kids love to swing on it and try not to fall in!
So if you come visit us, let us know ahead of time and we can make sure we get the proper cement sliding equipment from DI before you come!
