We've not been to an actual tubing place I think ever......So it was time to try.
We went to Soldier Hollow which is where the cross country events for the 2002 Olympics were held.
Recently, they even added a moving walkway to take you back up the hill so no hiking up!
The hill did not look that impressive when we got there, and I think we all thought, "that's it?"
Looks can be deceiving.
It was VERY fun and so good that due to Covid, you had to make an appointment and they were limiting the amount of people. That meant no lines ever, and never any waiting. The "sessions" are 2 hours long each which at the end, we were ready to be done.
We had great weather - there are 5 or 6 "lanes" all the same but we found that they each were a little different. Some went faster and others had more bumps
Christian (my cousin) came with us. Can't you tell this is him?
They have big rubber mats at the bottom to slow you down and you have to also drag your feet at a certain place otherwise you go too fast and crash into the fence (which we did once or twice). Oops
You can go down any way you want. Face first. Laying down. Laying up. In a group holding tubes/hands. Doesn't matter. We tried them all. Most of the time we found if we all were in a group, we went faster
Christian again. We found the masks kept your face warmer, as sometimes snow would fly up into our faces
