He graduated from WestLake High (being that the school is on the West side of Utah Lake) and they are the Mighty Thunder because of all the afternoon thunderstorms we get so often in the summer.
He was part of the 'Senior Evening of Excellence' where seniors were recognized for being awarded scholarships, high GPA and a few other things.
Jacob received full ride scholarships to 4 colleges (which he said no to all of them) and finally decided to accept his admission into BYU. (I guess since he gets 50% off tuition, that's kinda like a scholarship, right? He still had to be admitted though and that's tough!)
Jacob also was recognized for his 3.96 GPA and also a 'Thunder Scholar' meaning he was in the top 10% of his class according to GPA, ACT scores and other things.
The next night was actual graduation, and it was a L-O-N-G night. With over 900 seniors - yes, you read that right, it took 90 minutes just to read all the names, but Jacob was worth it!
We are so proud of you Jacob!
