Christmas 2016

We had a great Christmas!

First, we had extended family come over for brunch the day before Christmas.

Cameron and Brigham played some Christmas songs for us, and we had a gift exchange, with stealing!

Grandpa read a story for everyone....

Extended family then went home, and Meghan and Corey, and Marissa & Matt stayed, and we had a slumber party!  They stayed two nights with us and we had a great time!  Playing games, watching movies, eating lots of goodies and food.

Christmas morning we woke up to yummy cinnamon rolls.  Meghan/Corey and Marissa/Matt brought all their presents as well, so we had quite the living room full of gifts for so many people!

We started opening, and as is our tradition, we take time to enjoy each gift.  Corey's family has a tradition where each gift has a "clue" on it to help with the guess. We aren't very good at that tradition and our clues were pretty lame.  Corey's clues were very good!

We got about half way through the gifts, and it was time to go to church, and we had quite the mess!  Off to church with a special Christmas program - Jacob and Hannah even sang in a special choir!

Then we came back and had a great rest of the day.

Jacob has been wanting snow, snow, and more snow and it finally snowed Christmas eve all night, and Christmas day.

The next day, we tried out some sledding.  There really wasn't that much snow, but it did the trick.  ?We just went to the golf course behind our house.

Later that week, we all got together again and went to help out with the "Burrito Project" - you can look it up on Facebook and is in many larger cities around the country.  A few times a week, volunteers go and make burritos, several hundred, and then go hand them out to the homeless.

We made ours, and then we were sent to the "sketchy" area to hand them out.  It was dark, cold and icy and we made two stops on our route.  It was a little sketchy, but the people were very appreciative and thankful for the burritos.  I'm 100% positive there were more trades going on there besides burritos though......stuff "off the books" was being traded/sold/bought....  It was definitely an experience, and we were glad we did it.

We had a great Christmas time because we were all there as family!
