Since the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake in 2002 (which I was able to work for NBC in their IT group for this, which was very fun), the Olympic Park here is one of the few Olympic venues that is still in operation and making money. Most just sit and rot. The US Ski Team practices here, both in the winter and summer for ski jumping. In the summer, as you will see, the skiers practice their jumps by jumping into a pool - skis and all!
There are activities that the public can do, including zip lines - one of which is one of the steepest zip lines in the world, also travelling at about 50 mph which is the same speed an Olympic ski jumper travels, tubing down the actual ski jumps, at 50 mph which was a little nerve racking, but fun, and even riding the bobsleds on the actual bobsled track. When a groupon popped up for the activities, we jumped on it! It included everything except the bobsled - which will run you $65 for two runs!
We went before it got too cold, and everyone else had the same idea as we did. It was so crowded! We did have a lot of fun though and spent the whole day there! We wanted to do several things more than once, but the lines were so long and it was hot!
It was game day, with BYU playing Utah, and we drove by this HUGE flag next the freeway!
It's the biggest flag we've ever seen! It was SOOOOO big!
The leaves were just starting to change
You can also pay to try the ski jumping

Our first look at the ski jumping hills
The make you go on the "smaller" one first, on the left, then you can go on the one on the right
Getting ready to go down
Whee!!!! Mine turned backwards from the very start, and I didn't like going backwards!

Riding the lift up to the zip and alpine slide
It looks pretty barren without all the snow
Jacob and Hannah getting ready to go down on the zip line. It runs two at a time Video from Matt:
Alpine Slide run - it actually was very fun! We really liked this one
