Petroglyphs

There has been rumor that there are some Petroglyphs in Eagle Mountain.

The rumor is true and it's right outside our front door practically!

In 2006, a developer bought some land and was surveying it to lay out the plot and stuff, and they came across the petroglyphs on some rocks in the middle of the land they bought.  It's basically been a secret since then, with the developer not ready to develop the land all these years.

Now the developer is getting ready and they want to build a park around the rocks and keep them as a city treasure for all to enjoy.  Although, the location hasn't been revealed because they don't want anyone vandalizing the artwork.  The "Fremont Indians" are well known in Utah, and Utah has the largest amount of petroglyphs art work in the country, but it's mostly in southern Utah. Before these were discovered almost 10 years ago, nobody thought the "Fremont Indians" were this far north and west...until now.

A few internet searches, and looking at the photos of the background trees (lack of) and the mountains, we were able to find the location, and it's about 3 miles from our house.  So we went out to see it, up close.

It's a little anti-climatic, as it's pretty small.  And we actually walked on the rock looking for it, not realizing it was there until we stood back and looked again.  It's kinda hard to see in these photos, but it's three stick figures dancing.

It was kinda cool thinking it's been there for an estimated 6000 years and it's just sitting there......on a rock.

We had to hurry..the sun was going down and it was getting dark.

A little hard to see it, but this is it

Another shot
