Johnny Appleseed

Fall means time to go to Apple Hill.  We decided to go early this year to beat the crowds. The weather wasn't very Fallish, as it was about 85 degrees!

For those who don't know, Apple Hill is a collection of 55 ranches that grow not only apples, but a variety of fruits, pumpkins, but mostly apples.  It's now the largest concentration of apple growers in state. During the fall, the ranches have different activities, flea markets and entertainment and lots of food to eat to get people to stop at their ranch.

We saw Santa taking some time to relax and get some apples for all the stockings he will be filling in a few short months.

This ranch has lots of grapes growing also.  It's so beautiful country to see all the stuff growing and all green!

This ranch was selling homemade apple pies and turnovers and had an activity for the kids to make their own apple turnover. It wasn't a tiny one either - it was the actual size of the ones they were selling!    They were YUMMY!

We stopped at one of our favorite ranches where you can pick your own apples, and feed the alpacas.   Of course Jacob found a ladder in the orchard and had to try it out!

Where else do you actually get to park in the middle of the orchard!

Apple Hill was lots of fun!

On the way home, it just so happened that the Fairy Festival was going and guess what? It just happened to be on the way home!

I didn't want to be too conspicuous so I didn't run in front of the lady in the red, but she was one of the belly dancers. We missed the show unfortunately!

Here is one of the other belly dancers checking out some new clothes.

Shelley's been looking for a copper star to hang in our living room, but this one wasn't big enough, so we didn't get it.  :-(

This little area was for the fairy spirits to have a place to come and land and visit during the festival.  Humans were not allowed to go in.

We weren't sure which fairy this is, but it looks like one that we wouldn't want to meet on a dark street.

Of course, Dumbledore was there and he was awesome!

Apples and Fairy's!  Who could ask for more!!!
