Six Flags Saturday

We normally don’t go to Six Flags on a Saturday because it’s just too crowded.  We made an exception yesterday and tried it out.  Hannah talked Six Flags up to one of her friend’s family (Megan Huber) and they decided to get season passes based on Hannah’s recommendation.  So we all went together and had a great time!

It was crowded, but we took our time, went to shows, played in the kiddie land (The Huber’s have little kids – oldest is Hannah’s age) and sat in the shade talking, and just took it easy.  Knowing that  we can come back takes the pressure off trying to fight the crowds and ‘getting your monies worth’ all in one day.

Jacob had been planning our next visit to Six Flags for months, trying to grow enough so he could go on Medussa.  He was 1/2 inch short so he tried wearing 5 pairs of socks, but found that he couldn’t lace up his shoes they were so tight.  I told him that his feet were going to hurt if he wore that many socks. His reply?  “SO what. At least I will get to go on Medussa!”  He finally was convinced after wearing them for 10 minutes that he was not going to last the day.  So he wore his tallest tennis shoes, and we measured him again, and yep, still 1/2 inch short.  We told him to stand up straight and we will see.

We headed over to Medussa since it gets crowded fast, and Jacob was going to try and see. If they turned him away, at least he would be turned away knowing he tried.  We got all the way up to the gate. Jacob was very excited and nervous at the same time, wondering in anticipation if he could go.  It was finally our turn to be next.  The train pulled into the station, and before the gates open, the employee walked up and down the line with the measuring stick to see if anyone looks short enough to measure.  As she got closer, Jacob stood straight up, posture perfect!  She came closer, looked at him, looked closer at him, slowed down, and just ‘eyed’ it to see if he was tall enough.  She kept on walking.  At that moment, when Jacob knew he was in the Medussa Club, the expression on his face was priceless!  It was an expression of Joy, Fun, Relief, and FINALLY I GET TO RIDE MEDUSSA!  It was so fun to see!  The gates opened up and we were all on!

All the way up the huge hill he was saying, “Aren’t we to the top yet? This is so high!”  After it was all over, he was smiles from ear to ear.  It was awesome he said.  He had finally reached a milestone he had been waiting for over 5 years to achieve.  Now Hannah is patiently waiting for her turn too!

Here we are getting ready to ride:

Afterwards, he ran out to tell Marissa how much fun it was!

Here are some random pics of Medussa:

Of course we saw the Shouka Show:

It was packed!

We swung on the swings. Can you spot Meghan, Marissa and Hannah? Meghan is easy – just look for the black sweatshirt with orange writing.

I really like how this next one turned out. It was just a random shot, but I like how it turned out:

Even the bigger kids had some fun in the kiddie land.
