Thanksgiving

Jacob's Primary talk from November 2007

We just celebrated Thanksgiving. I wanted to share with you 4 people I am thank for.

1. Lehi's family
Came across a large ocean in a boat
Left their own land for religious purposes
Said a prayer when they landed
Considered this continent the Promised Land
Brought the scriptures with them (Brass Plates)

2. Pilgrims
Came across a large ocean in a boat
Left their own land for religious purposes
Left their homes and possessions to be free
Said a prayer when they landed
Brought the scriptures with them (Bible)

3. Pioneers
Came a great distance, sometimes walking
Left all their homes and possessions to be free
Left their countries and homes for religious purposes
Said a prayer when they reached the Salt Lake Valley
Brought the scriptures with them (Bible, Book of Mormon)

4. My Grandma Bingham
Came a great distance, on a bus
Left her home and family for religious purposes
Said lots of prayers when she reached BYU
Brought her wedding dress with her so she could be married in them temple (all by herself)

I am so thankful for all these people who have made it possible for me to be baptised in the true church.
